A common situation in on-site operation and maintenance is: after the core is damaged, it is necessary to shut down, drain, clean the tank, and then reinstall, and maintenance takes several hours or even days. The BDR-300 explosion-proof electric heater adopts a split-type structure. Replacing the core does not require draining the storage tank; maintenance can be completed by disassembling and assembling above the flange surface, reducing medium loss and downtime.
Compared with direct combustion or steam tracing, electric heating has no open flame and no flue gas emissions. Heat is transferred directly from the heating element to the medium, and the efficiency of converting electrical energy into heat is close to 100%. Compared with ordinary electric heating tubes, the flameproof enclosure isolates possible internal arcs from the external explosive gas atmosphere, making it suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous locations such as petrochemical and natural gas pressure reducing station tracing.
The power range of a single unit can be configured as needed, and the maximum operating temperature can reach 720°C (some models 850°C). Combined with PID algorithm and SCR power regulation, the temperature control accuracy can reach ±0.2°C, making it suitable for scenarios sensitive to temperature fluctuations such as meltblown drawing air. It can be integrated with DCS/PLC systems and provide alarm signals for operation, high temperature, and faults.
The heating section must be immersed in the medium by more than 50 mm, and the area within 100 mm of the flange surface is the non-heating part; low liquid level protection must be provided, and dry burning is strictly prohibited. Explosion-proof components should be used in conjunction with temperature interlock control protection devices such as thermocouples. Flameproof joint surfaces must not have rust or scratches, and fasteners should be made of stainless steel; the cable entry must be sealed with a dedicated explosion-proof cable gland. The equipment should have a valid explosion-proof certificate for the complete unit and comply with the requirements of the GB 3836 series standards.
It can be used for heating hydrocarbons such as crude oil, heavy oil, heat transfer oil, lubricating oil, and paraffin wax, as well as for chemical reactor jacket heating, grain silo freeze protection, and ship oil tank heating (can meet CCS/DNV/LR certification requirements), among other applications.
