Before selection, the hazardous area classification of the installation site must be clearly defined. The BDR-450 explosion-proof electric heater is suitable for IIA, IIB, and IIC explosive gas atmospheres. The temperature group (T1~T6) must be selected according to the ignition temperature of the on-site medium. The explosion-proof marking on the equipment nameplate should be consistent with the area classification documents to avoid downgraded use.
Calculate the heating power based on the required system heating time, oil specific heat, and temperature difference. The BDR-450 has a rated power of 45kW, a design working pressure of 0.6MPa, and a maximum outlet oil temperature of up to 320°C. If the actual heat load exceeds the rated value, it will cause slow oil temperature rise or component overload.
The equipment provides RS485 and RS232 communication interfaces and supports the Modbus-RTU protocol, making it easy to integrate into DCS or PLC systems. During on-site wiring, confirm that the control cabinet power supply voltage (AC380V/50Hz) matches the heater nameplate, and check that the grounding resistance is less than 4Ω.
Thermal oil electric heater equipment relies on forced circulation, and the medium flow velocity should not be less than 1.5m/s to avoid local overheating and coking. During selection, verify the system pump flow rate and the heater shell flow cross-section to ensure the flow velocity is within a reasonable range.
As the preferred enclosure for temperature control devices, the temperature control box must match the heater power. The control box supplied with the BDR-450 has over-temperature alarm, oil shortage protection, and automatic power-off functions. On-site maintenance personnel should regularly check the heat dissipation of the control box and the tightness of the wiring terminals.
