During on-site operation and maintenance, elevated pressure drop and reduced heat transfer capacity are commonly encountered in heat exchangers, and upon disassembly and inspection, the water-side channels are often found to be clogged with impurities. The BXS-175 brazed stainless steel heat exchanger provides clear handling solutions for such problems in the installation and maintenance stages.
Suspended solids in the water-side medium tend to accumulate in the inter-plate channels, causing pressure drop to rise and flow rate to decrease. During installation, it is recommended to install a Y-type strainer at the water-side inlet and to clean the filter screen regularly; the oil-side filter accuracy should be no less than 100 μm to reduce particulate matter entering the heat exchange channels. A maintenance space of ≥300 mm should be reserved at the equipment installation location to facilitate subsequent disassembly, inspection, and flushing.
Some on-site problems stem from insufficient estimation of operating conditions during model selection. Design and selection personnel need to confirm the compatibility of plate material and brazing material according to medium characteristics, and calculate the pressure drop and heat transfer margin under actual operating conditions, so as to avoid long-term operation of the equipment at conditions deviating from the design point.
This product is suitable for liquid and gas heat exchange applications that are clean and have controlled chloride ion content, such as chilled water systems for air conditioning, hydraulic oil cooling, and waste heat recovery. For media containing large amounts of particulate matter or with chloride ion concentrations exceeding the controlled range, material and filtration solutions need to be evaluated separately during the selection stage, and conventional configurations should not be directly applied.
Operation and maintenance personnel can check on-site conditions item by item according to the above three aspects—filtration, maintenance space, and pressure drop calculation—to reduce downtime caused by clogging and selection deviations.
