In the heat exchange sections of chemical, pharmaceutical, or HVAC systems, procurement personnel often need to weigh gasketed versus fully welded structures. The BRQ-260 plate-and-shell heat exchanger adopts a combined plate bundle and shell design, offering a comparable option for medium-to-high pressure and relatively high temperature operating conditions.
This model can be equipped with a fully welded plate bundle structure, with no gaskets between plates, reducing concerns about elastic seals aging at high temperatures. Compared with plate heat exchangers that rely on gasket sealing, the fully welded plate bundle extends the applicable temperature range to below 400°C, with a design pressure not exceeding 4.0 MPa. If the operating temperature is lower, EPDM gaskets can also be configured, suitable for hot water and steam conditions below 120°C, with good aging resistance. During procurement, the sealing form can be selected based on the medium temperature and pressure boundaries.
Daily operation should record changes in inlet and outlet temperature, pressure, and flow rate to help determine whether heat exchange efficiency deviates from the design value. When the pressure difference continues to rise or the outlet temperature fluctuates abnormally, the recorded data can be used to investigate scaling, blockage, or internal leakage, and handling should be carried out according to operating procedures. The plate bundle structure of this model is relatively compact, occupying less space for the same heat exchange capacity, making it convenient to arrange within existing pipe racks or equipment rooms.
The BRQ-260 plate-and-shell heat exchanger can be used in scenarios such as steam-water heat exchange, process medium cooling, or waste heat recovery. When selecting, procurement personnel need to confirm medium corrosiveness, allowable pressure drop, and installation space, and verify with the supplier whether the plate material and sealing form match the actual operating conditions. For boundary conditions with temperatures approaching 400°C or pressures approaching 4.0 MPa, it is recommended to reserve a safety margin and clearly define the design conditions.
