Advantages of sheathed electric heater: high mechanical strength, high thermal efficiency, and safe and reliable performance

A sheathed electric heater (also commonly referred to as a tubular electric heater or armored heater) is essentially a sturdy, sealed "electric heating rod." Its core structure is very classic, like an "electric heating sandwich": the center is the resistance heating wire (heat source), the middle is tightly filled with insulating yet thermally conductive magnesium oxide powder, and the outermost layer is a protective sheath made of metals such as stainless steel, copper, or titanium.

This design endows it with advantages such as long service life, high mechanical strength, high thermal efficiency, and safe and reliable performance. It has a very wide range of applications in both industrial and civil fields.

⚙️ Core Structure and Working Principle

The working principle of a sheathed electric heater is based on the "Joule heating effect." When current passes through the internal resistance wire, electrical energy is converted into thermal energy. The generated heat is rapidly and uniformly conducted to the outer metal sheath through the tightly filled magnesium oxide powder, and then the sheath transfers the heat to the surrounding medium such as air, liquid, or metal molds.
