During winter operation and maintenance of oil pump stations, decreased fluidity of viscous media in pipelines and tank outlet temperatures below process requirements are common feedback received by procurement personnel. Such problems are mostly related to improper selection of heat tracing methods and insufficient compatibility between heating elements and media.
The FBY-60 sheathed electric heater uses a metal sheath to enclose resistance wires, with the ends sealed, and can be directly inserted into storage tanks, pipelines, or containers to heat the medium. The sheath material can be selected from carbon steel, stainless steel, etc., according to the corrosiveness of the medium, and the protection grade of the junction box can be configured according to the on-site environment. After the element is energized, heat is conducted to the medium through the sheath wall, with an electric-to-heat conversion efficiency of no less than 95%, and the allowable working voltage error is no more than 1.1 times the rated value.
This product is suitable for oilfield production plants, oil pump stations, refineries, oil depots, offshore platforms, and tank trucks, etc., for anti-freezing, anti-coagulation, insulation, viscosity reduction, resistance reduction, and heating of viscous and heat-sensitive liquid media. For solid oils such as asphalt and paraffin, the voltage can be reduced first, and after the medium melts, it can be raised to the rated voltage to avoid local overheating.
During selection, it is necessary to confirm the medium characteristics, maximum working temperature, installation space, and power supply conditions, and reasonably determine the sheath material, power, and dimensions. It is recommended to calculate heat loss based on the insulation condition of the tank or pipeline, reserve appropriate power margin, and avoid long-term full-load operation.
