Cast aluminum electric heating plates are integrally cast, and once the surface is bumped, the entire plate is scrapped; ceramic heating plates are highly brittle, and overtightening the mounting screws can easily cause cracking. The mica electric heating plate uses a mica board as the insulating skeleton, with resistance wire wound around it and then covered with a metal guard plate, allowing component-level disassembly during maintenance. When local overheating is found, first measure the insulation resistance between the resistance wire and the guard plate. If it is below 5MΩ, the guard plate must be removed to check whether the mica layer is carbonized. If only the mica sheet is damaged, replacing it with a mica sheet of the same specification and rewinding the wire is sufficient, without scrapping the entire unit.
The JRD-700 model is compatible with 380V three-phase or 220V single-phase power supply. Before wiring, confirm that the heating area fits flat against the metal base of the equipment. If the gap is greater than 0.5mm, a thermal conductive pad must be added. Tighten the bolts in diagonal order in stages, with torque controlled at 3~5N·m; excessive torque will crack the mica layer. Use high-temperature silicone lead wires to avoid friction with the sharp edges of the guard plate. When multiple units are connected in parallel, each heating plate should have an independent circuit breaker at the front end to facilitate isolation of a single unit failure.
On-site operation and maintenance should measure the cold insulation resistance once a week and record the trend. If the insulation resistance decreases month by month, it indicates that the mica has absorbed moisture or the surface is carbonized. It can be wiped with anhydrous ethanol and dried at low temperature. When the resistance value of the resistance wire deviates from the initial value by ±10%, the heating power has significantly decayed, and replacement should be scheduled. Before stopping the machine, cut off the power first, and clean only after the guard plate temperature drops below 80°C to avoid deformation from rapid cooling.
This type of electric heating plate is suitable for scenarios such as plastic machinery barrels, chemical reactor jackets, and mold heating. It is not suitable for environments with strongly corrosive gases or severe vibration. If it needs to be used in an explosion-proof area, an explosion-proof junction box should be selected and the surface temperature class should be confirmed.
