Product Description

The KFS-860 finned tube heat exchanger, designed and manufactured in accordance with GB/T 151 and user process conditions, is suitable for heating or cooling applications with media such as steam, thermal oil, and hot water. The base tubes can be made of carbon steel, stainless steel, or corrosion-resistant alloys, and the fin types include wound fins and sleeve fins.

Common Improper Operations in Fin Cleaning

During on-site maintenance, fin deformation and collapse are mostly caused by improper cleaning methods. When using wire brushes, hard scrapers, or high-pressure water guns for direct flushing, plastic deformation easily occurs at the fin roots, reducing the ventilation gap and consequently decreasing heat transfer capacity. For alloy steel base tubes, the cleaning agent composition must be controlled according to material requirements to avoid pitting corrosion on the tube wall caused by chloride ions or strongly alkaline components. Solution: Prioritize the use of soft brushes with low-pressure water or compressed air blowing; for oily conditions, select neutral cleaning agents compatible with the base tube material, rinse with clean water after cleaning, and blow dry.

Wiring and Grounding of Associated Electric Heating Elements

When the heat exchanger is used with associated electric heating elements, the wiring should be correctly connected according to the nameplate voltage. Do not mistakenly connect star-connected elements as delta-connected, otherwise the voltage borne by a single element will deviate from the design value, easily leading to overheating damage. The enclosure grounding terminal must be reliably connected to protective earth. Solution: Before wiring, verify that the power supply voltage matches the nameplate and use a multimeter to confirm element continuity; the cross-sectional area of the grounding wire should not be less than that of the phase wire, and the grounding resistance should meet on-site distribution protection requirements.

Key Points for Inspection During Operation and Handling of Abnormalities

When the outlet temperature drops and pressure drop rises, first check for dust accumulation on the fin surface or scaling on the medium side, then verify whether the bypass valve has internal leakage. If tube bundle vibration is obvious, check whether the baffle spacing and flow velocity exceed the design range. Solution: Regularly record inlet and outlet temperatures, pressure differentials, and flow rates; if a single tube leak is found, the tube bundle can be isolated first, and after shutdown, repair or plug the tube using a welding process matched to the material. The number of plugged tubes should not exceed 10% of the total number of tubes in the bundle.

Recommendations for Shutdown Maintenance

For short-term shutdown, drain the medium and keep the fins dry; for long-term shutdown, it is advisable to apply rust prevention treatment to carbon steel base tubes and avoid external force squeezing on the fins. Maintenance records should include cleaning time, cleaning agent type, and grounding test results for traceability.
