The fin-side channel is designed for gaseous media and can be used for air heating, air cooling, and waste heat recovery from dust-laden flue gas. For dust-laden flue gas, dust stickiness must be controlled to avoid the formation of dense deposits on the fin surface. Easily scaling liquid media should not enter the fin side; otherwise, cleaning is difficult and the fin gaps may become blocked.
Mechanical rapping for ash removal is suitable for dry dust conditions. The rapping force must be moderate; excessive rapping may cause fatigue at the fin roots. Online compressed air blowing has little impact on production continuity and can be used as a routine maintenance measure. O&M personnel can determine cleaning timing based on changes in inlet and outlet temperatures and the upward trend of pressure drop, and routinely check the fins for deformation, ash accumulation, or corrosion.
The base tube material can be carbon steel, stainless steel, or ND steel, and the fin material should match the base tube. Fin spacing is selected according to dust concentration; a larger spacing is recommended when the dust content is high. Design pressure and design temperature are determined according to actual operating conditions, and the flue gas side pressure drop is recommended to be controlled within a reasonable range. Connection specifications can be customized according to pipeline system requirements.
