During on-site operation and maintenance, it is common to see the pressure gauge pointer slowly climbing and the outlet water temperature lower than at the initial commissioning stage, which is mostly related to tube bundle scaling or shell-side fouling. The GLB-250 shell and tube heat exchanger is designed for steam-water and water-water heat exchange conditions. The following key points are listed from the perspective of procurement and selection.
The equipment consists of a shell, tube bundle, tubesheet, baffles, and nozzles, and the tube bundle can be withdrawn for cleaning. The shell and tubesheet are made of carbon steel, the heat exchange tubes can be stainless steel or copper tubes, and the sealing gaskets are selected according to the medium temperature.
The nominal heat exchange area is 250 m², the design pressure is 1.0 MPa, and the design temperature is 150°C. The applicable media are steam, hot water, or cooling water, and the tube side and shell side can be adjusted according to the on-site flow direction.
It is suitable for district heating heat exchange stations, process cooling water systems, and low-pressure steam condensate waste heat recovery, among other applications, and meets the requirements for continuous operation under medium load.
During on-site installation, space must be reserved for withdrawing the tube bundle to facilitate removal and cleaning during maintenance. After commissioning, pressure and temperature readings should be recorded regularly to judge the scaling trend and schedule maintenance milestones accordingly.
