Before on-site installation, first verify that the port orientation on the equipment nameplate matches the piping layout. The BXS-185 brazed stainless steel heat exchanger uses a compact brazed plate structure, with ports typically flanged or threaded; sufficient space must be reserved during installation for later inspection and maintenance. Note that the medium inlet and outlet directions should match the design drawings to avoid reduced heat transfer efficiency caused by reversed connections.
Maintenance personnel must confirm the compatibility of plate material and brazing material based on medium characteristics. The standard plate material for this model is 316L stainless steel, and the brazing material is copper or nickel-based. If the chloride ion concentration in the medium remains persistently high, even if 316L is selected, a dedicated assessment combining temperature and flow velocity is recommended, and if necessary, consult with design and selection personnel to adjust the material scheme. When medium composition fluctuates, it should be recorded and fed back to calculate the pressure drop and heat transfer margin under actual operating conditions.
During daily inspections, focus on changes in inlet-outlet pressure difference and temperature difference. A significant rise in pressure difference may indicate scaling or blockage between plates, while deviation of temperature difference from the design value requires checking whether flow rate and heat load match. Avoid operating the equipment away from the design point for extended periods, otherwise heat transfer performance and seal life may be affected. It is recommended to record operating parameters every shift and address abnormalities promptly.
Use neutral cleaning agents during cleaning and avoid chlorine-containing cleaners contacting the plates. Disassembly and inspection must follow operating procedures to prevent damage to sealing gaskets. If the equipment is out of service for an extended period, drain the internal medium and keep it dry. When reinstalling after maintenance, ensure bolts are tightened evenly to avoid leakage caused by uneven force.
