When purchasing an industrial electric heating furnace, it is often difficult to balance process temperature, heat transfer medium type, and operating cost. Equipment selection should be based on actual working condition parameters. The following outlines key points from the perspective of common issues.
The furnace chamber design temperature should be higher than the upper limit of process requirements, but it should not be excessively higher, as this increases energy consumption. If gas atmosphere control is involved, the furnace sealing level and pressure resistance specifications must be confirmed. For example, the JXF-380 electric heating furnace has a rated voltage of 380V, a power of 30kW, a design pressure of 0.6MPa, and an operating temperature of 300°C, making it suitable for low-pressure medium-temperature applications. Purchasing personnel should verify whether the process pressure is consistent with the furnace body's pressure-bearing capacity.
Applications such as chemical vapor deposition, nanomaterial synthesis, and catalyst reduction have clear requirements for temperature uniformity and fluctuation range. Temperature control systems typically use PID regulation together with multi-point thermocouple monitoring. If the process involves coupling with a thermogravimetric analyzer, signal interfaces and furnace chamber space must be reserved. During selection, temperature uniformity test data should be requested from the supplier.
The operating cost of an electric heating furnace mainly depends on power, insulation performance, and usage duration. The greater the power, the faster the heating rate, but the higher the requirements for power distribution capacity. During procurement, the on-site transformer margin must be calculated, and the heating element material and expected service life must be confirmed. Furnace bodies using ceramic fiber insulation layers have relatively lower heat loss.
The equipment should have over-temperature alarm and power-off protection functions. If used in a reducing or inert gas environment, the furnace chamber airtightness and exhaust device must be checked. Routine maintenance includes regularly checking the resistance value of heating elements, cleaning residual materials in the furnace chamber, and calibrating temperature control instruments. The procurement contract should specify the supply cycle for wearing parts.
