Bolt electric heating rod is a specialized electric heating tool for hot installation and removal of bolts in large industrial equipment (such as steam turbines and pressure vessels)
It heats the bolt to cause thermal expansion, allowing easy tightening or loosening of the nut. After the bolt cools and contracts, precise pre-tightening force is achieved, ensuring the sealing and safety of equipment connections.
⚙️ Core Working Principle
The working principle of the bolt electric heating rod is based on resistance heating technology.
Structure: Its core consists of high-resistance electric heating alloy wire inserted into a seamless metal tube (usually stainless steel), with magnesium oxide powder of good thermal conductivity and insulation filled in the gaps, formed through cold drawing and tube reduction process.
Operation: Insert the heating rod into the pre-drilled hole in the center of the bolt, then energize it.
Process: Current passes through the resistance wire to generate heat, which is transferred to the bolt through the metal sheath, causing uniform thermal expansion and elongation. At this point, the operator can easily turn the nut. After power is off, the bolt cools and contracts, completing the tightening or disassembly operation.
