The heat output can be changed by using a voltage regulator to alter the input voltage and current.
The heat output is directly proportional to the square of the voltage and the square of the current.
When the voltage is reduced to 1/2 of its original value, the heat output becomes 1/4.
When the current is reduced to 1/2 of its original value, the heat output also becomes 1/4.
