Explosion-proof grade and zone: Selection must be based on the GB 3836 series standards, confirming the applicable explosive gas atmosphere zone (Zone 1, Zone 2) and temperature class. Conventional chemical scenarios mostly use Ex d IIB T4 (surface temperature ≤135°C). High-risk media (such as hydrogen and acetylene) require Ex d IIC T4 or above, which can fully cover IIB working conditions.
Electrical and power parameters: Rated voltage supports 220V/380V, and power ranges from tens of watts to thousands of kilowatts. Power must be calculated based on the medium's specific heat capacity, flow rate, and temperature rise, with a 10%-20% margin reserved in engineering. Surface power density must be strictly controlled. For media prone to carbon deposition such as thermal oil, it should be ≤0.7W/cm²; for air dry-burning conditions, it should be controlled at 1.0-2.5W/cm² to avoid local overheating.
Material and protection rating: The sheath material should be selected according to the corrosiveness of the medium. 304 stainless steel is used in conventional environments, 316L stainless steel in high-humidity or mildly corrosive environments, and 310S high-temperature-resistant stainless steel in high-temperature dry-burning conditions. Outdoor or dust-intensive scenarios require IP65 or above, and seaside or washdown scenarios are recommended to use IP66.
Safety protection configuration: Multiple protection mechanisms such as over-temperature protection, low liquid level/dry-burning protection, and short-circuit protection must be provided. For explosion-proof applications, a complete machine explosion-proof certificate (CCC certification) must be obtained. In some high-requirement scenarios, an intelligent temperature control cabinet can be used to achieve linkage with the DCS system.
